In a favorable outcome for our client, the Illinois Supreme Court denied the Petition for Leave to Appeal (Docket No. 105178) filed by Plaintiff John Tamburo which sought to overturn the decision of the Illinois Appellate Court (Third District) that affirmed the trial court's dismissal of our client on the basis of lack of personal jurisdiction from a defamation suit emanating from statements made online.

In an appeal filed by Mudd Law Offices, the Arizona Court of Appeals remanded a trial court decision compelling the disclosure of an anonymous individual's identity from our client, The Suggestion Box, Inc.

United States District Court Judge Joan B. Gottschall (Northern District of Illinois) granted the motion to dismiss filed by Mudd Law Offices on behalf of its clients against Plaintiffs Versity Corporation and John Tamburo. The Court ruled that it lacked personal jurisdiction over the non-resident defendants.

Mudd Law Offices successfully obtained a ruling from the Circuit
Court of Cook County dismissing its clients for lack of personal
jurisdiction. Radio Humsafar and other plaintiffs (all of whom resided
or had offices in California or Canada) sued two individual California
residents in Illinois for defamation. Arguing on behalf of these
two individuals, Charles Lee Mudd Jr. successfully demonstrated
that his individual clients could not be subject to personal jurisdiction
in Illinois.

shopowners sued by Lions Gate for alleged infringement of purported
trademarks related to the film Dirty Dancing.

Mudd Law Offices moved its primary location seven blocks to a new
commercial condominium located at 3114 West Irving Park Road in
the gorgeous Irving Park Neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Our
new location will be located on the ground level and provide both
dedicated and street parking for our clients and visitors. Our new
offices will include a state-of-the-art conference room, a beautiful
and expansive reception area, high-tech offices for our attorneys
and staff, as well as guest office space for our clients and visitors
to utilize.

Mudd Law Offices successfully briefed a motion seeking dismissal of a defamation complaint filed against our client. The Court agreed that the statute of limitations had elapsed with respect to online statements alleged to be defamatory. Specifically, the statute of limitations for online communications begins on the date of initial publication - not discovery by the Plaintiff. Additionally, the Court agreed that it did not have personal jurisdiction over our client.
